Selvin Glass on Good Day Philadelphia

In this Fox 29 “Good Day Philadelphia” segment, Selvin Glass owner Emily Selvin demonstrates how to restore a piece of leaded glass to its original brilliance. First, the old lead is removed and recycled, and each individual piece of glass is cleaned. Next, new lead is cut to fit the shape of the glass, with either an old-fashioned lead knife or lead snips. Once the new lead is wrapped around the glass, the ends are soldered together. The most important thing to remember? “You can’t be afraid of the glass,” Emily says.
